Share a link to Grabio and it does not keep the file on its own server. It opens one of two other sites and hands the link over. Here is exactly which one, and what each says about itself.

Short answer

  • Share a YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X or Pinterest link to Grabio and the current build opens FastSaver with that link.
  • Share any other link and Grabio copies it and opens NoAdsDL, where you paste it in.
  • Grabio does not run either site. I am telling you what each one says about itself, not giving you a safety verdict on either.

Where a shared link goes inside GrabioGrabio checks a shared link. A link from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X or Pinterest opens FastSaver. Any other link is copied and NoAdsDL opens for you to paste it in.

Grabio’s own server is not part of either path.Shared linkfrom the share sheetYouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, PinterestOpens FastSaver with the linkfastsaver.ioAny other linkCopies it, opens NoAdsDL, you tap Pastenoadsdl.com

The six names Grabio checks for are fixed in the current build: YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X and Pinterest. A link from anywhere else, a blog’s video embed, a lesser-known platform, a direct file link, is copied to your clipboard and NoAdsDL opens for you to paste it in.

That is also what Grabio does for a YouTube link specifically if you want to see the handoff described step by step: downloading YouTube videos on iPhone.

What FastSaver says about itself

Read on 5 Nov 2026, fastsaver.io’s homepage leads with “save anything, drop the link, download the media. free, no login.” It lists a separate page for each of the six platforms it names (Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X, Pinterest) and marks the service “for personal use,” with a link to its own terms.

It also offers a developer API and a Telegram bot, neither of which Grabio uses.

What NoAdsDL says about itself

Read the same day, noadsdl.com calls itself a “Free online video downloader” and the flow is paste a link, choose MP4 or MP3, then continue to the formats it can find for that link.

Its own claims: “No ad networks,” “No account required,” and “Download only material you own, have permission to save, or may lawfully use,” with a link to its copyright policy.

It also mentions a paid supporter tier on its own site for larger files; that tier belongs to NoAdsDL, not to Grabio, which stays free either way.

Neither description above is Grabio vouching for the other site. It is what each one’s own homepage said on the date I read it. Pages change, so if you want the current wording, the links in the table go straight there.

Why Grabio hands off at all

Most of what Grabio does, compressing a photo, converting HEIC to JPG, trimming a video, runs with Apple’s own Shortcuts actions on your iPhone.

Pulling a video from a platform link is not one of those on-device jobs, so the current build opens a page built for exactly that instead of trying to rebuild it.

The same pattern applies to merging a PDF (opens PDF24), reading a QR code (opens QRLynx) and converting most other file types (opens VERT). How Grabio works has the full picture of what runs on your phone versus what hands off, and what Grabio’s own server does and does not see.

NoAdsDL and FastSaver: FAQ

What is NoAdsDL?

NoAdsDL is the site Grabio opens for a link it does not recognise as one of the six named platforms. It describes itself as a free online video downloader and says “No ad networks, No account required.” That is its own description, read on 5 Nov 2026, not a claim Grabio makes for it.

Is NoAdsDL safe?

I cannot give you a safety verdict on a site I do not run. What I can tell you is what it says about itself: no ad networks, no account required, and it says it will not provide access to private, paywalled, login-only or DRM-protected sources. Read its own policy before you decide.

What is FastSaver?

FastSaver is the site Grabio opens for a YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X or Pinterest link. Its homepage says “save anything, drop the link, download the media. free, no login” and describes the service as for personal use.

Is FastSaver safe?

Same answer as NoAdsDL: I am not the one running it, so I will not call it safe or unsafe. Its own homepage is the source I quote above, read 5 Nov 2026.

Does my link pass through Grabio’s own server?

No. For both sites, Grabio hands the link straight to the external page in your browser. How Grabio works covers what Grabio’s own server does and does not see.

Why does Grabio use two different sites instead of one?

The current build only recognises six platforms by name and sends those to FastSaver. Everything else goes to NoAdsDL as a general destination. That split is in the Shortcut’s own logic, not something either site asked for.

I build Grabio, a free iOS Shortcut that downloads and converts media entirely on your iPhone. No App Store install, no login, nothing uploaded to a server. I am a GTM builder who writes the code myself, and I write these guides from actually shipping and supporting the thing.
